Sound insulation material Comfortmat Integra Gen2
Comfortmat Integra Gen2 is a new generation sound insulation material developed based on Aerospace technology using Vacuum Spheres granules. Compared to the first generation, it offers significant improvements in acoustic insulation, body stabilisation and resistance to extreme conditions. The basis of the design is a special polymer base with unique Vacuum Spheres granules, which have an extremely low density (0.00002 kg/cm³) and function as hollow microcapsules that disperse sound energy. Thanks to the precisely defined distribution of these granules, sound is effectively absorbed across a wide spectrum, especially in the mid-frequency range, where conventional polyethylene and polypropylene-based insulation loses its effectiveness. The upper side of the material consists of a protective textile surface with a PE Barrier nano barrier, which protects against moisture and extends the service life. The total thickness of 6 mm and increased sound insulation capacity of up to 32 dB ensure a combination of excellent noise reduction and easy application. The second-generation Comfortmat Integra is therefore a cutting-edge solution for professional applications in the field of automotive soundproofing.

Increased sound insulation
Although the second generation of Integra does not contain a membrane or a separate adhesive layer, there has been a significant increase not only in efficiency but also in adhesion. Integra has achieved significant improvements, particularly in acoustic improvement efficiency, up to 32 dB (ΔR), which is 5 dB more than in the first generation. Laboratory measurements show that combining Integra Gen2 with anti-vibration material increases acoustic attenuation by up to 75% compared to conventional applications. This means less noise penetration from outside and a quieter interior overall, even when driving on rough asphalt. Thanks to the new Vacuum Spheres granule technology, Integra can be used not only on car doors but also on all other parts of the bodywork, thanks to its minimal water and moisture absorption.
Complete elimination of resonances
Another advantage of Integra Gen.2 material is the complete elimination of resonance. While conventional polypropylene and polyethylene membrane materials cause a drop in efficiency in the critical mid-frequency range (1000–2000 Hz), Integra Gen2 ensures uniform attenuation without acoustic drops. This provides stable sound insulation even under higher loads on the car body and contributes to a significantly quieter interior.
Improved anti-vibration capabilities
Another strong point is the ability to increase the acoustic loss factor (MLF) of the vibration isolation layer. Tests confirm that the combination of anti-vibration material, such as Comfortmat Cobra, and second-generation Integra achieves up to 200% higher vibration attenuation than untreated sheet metal. This is especially true at low and high temperatures, which are problematic for conventional materials. This preserves the insulating properties even in freezing temperatures or summer heat.
Mechanical reinforcement of the bodywork
The last, but no less important effect is the significant reinforcement of the treated areas of the car body. The combination with anti-vibration material can increase the rigidity of standard car body sheet metal by up to 85%, thereby reducing deflection, vibration and mechanical shaking of the structure. In real-world operation, this manifests itself in a greater subjective feeling of strength and lower cabin noise.

Where to apply Comfortmat integra damping material
The second generation Comfortmat Integra is designed not only for door soundproofing, but also for other areas of the car body thanks to its increased effectiveness. It is applied as a second layer on top of anti-vibration material. Thanks to its innovative composition, it replaces three layers of existing membrane materials. The most common uses of Comfortmat Integra soundproofing material:
- Front and rear doors
 - Boot lid (fifth door)
 - Floor
 - Luggage compartment
 - Front and rear wheel arches
 - Space under rear seats
 - Glove compartment
