BMW 7 (F01) - complete soundproofing and new sound system
Soundproofing and audio upgrade of a BMW 7 Series. The client’s request was clear: to soundproof this BMW flagship as much as possible. The top-range 7 Series is among the best-soundproofed cars, yet—as with all vehicles—it can of course be improved significantly. For this installation we paid particular attention to noise from the engine, from the large Alpina wheels and, most importantly, to interior creaking. For that reason we disassembled and completely soundproofed the dashboard, and we thoroughly soundproofed the front and rear wheel arches both from the inside and the outside. We also treated all plastic parts with appropriate damping materials and tapes to maximally prevent plastic-on-plastic friction. We then proceeded in the standard way, but using the most effective materials from the premium manufacturer Comfortmat. Specifically, we chose our Premium Plus soundproofing package, which we individually adjusted for maximum effectiveness. We focused on all crucial areas of the car: the front, rear and fifth doors, the floor, the luggage compartment, the front and rear wheel arches inside and out, the hood and the aforementioned dashboard. We also installed an audio system from the Italian manufacturer Audison, which stands out not only for its high-quality sound and power but also for installation without any modification to the original wiring. This is thanks to a sophisticated wiring system that ensures full integration with the factory head unit without cutting, soldering or running new cables. Audison speakers and subwoofers share the same dimensions, shape, mounts and connectors as the factory speakers, so the whole solution is truly Plug & Play. Everything is now driven by an eight-channel Audison digital amplifier with a DSP processor, which supplies power to all speakers and subwoofers. The final phase of the installation is measuring the sound with a calibrated microphone and transferring the measurement results to the DSP processor software. There we set the speaker layout, time corrections according to speaker placement and detailed equalization. The result is high-quality sound tuned specifically for the vehicle, whose quality and performance far exceed even the optional higher-class sound systems from Harmann Kardon.

Our basic Standard soundproofing includes soundproofing of all important areas of the car, focusing not only on high efficiency, but also at an affordable price. In particular, we are dedicated to soundproofing the hood, front and rear doors, trunk, floor and front and rear wheel arches from the inside. We use Comfortmat anti-vibration and sound-insulating materials, especially from the Standard model series, thanks to which we are able to reduce the price to a lower level. However, we apply the same materials as in the Premium soundproofing package to the areas most affected by noise. Thanks to this, our basic package already enables highly effective noise reduction, which at the given price has no equivalent on our market.

The Standard Light sound deadening package is intended for all customers who require a very effective sound deadening of the car, but taking into account the low weight of the materials. We soundproof the same areas as the Standard package, i.e. the hood, front and rear doors, floor, trunk and front and rear wheel arches. However, we use different materials that excel in light weight while maintaining high efficiency. In the first and second layers of noise reduction, we apply lightweight anti-vibration and sound-insulating materials, which allow for 30 percent lower weight and at the same time only slightly lower efficiency than with the Standard package. Compared to our most efficient Expert and Expert Plus packages, this is a weight reduction of up to 50 percent.

Our most popular Premium sound deadening package includes almost complete vehicle sound deadening in addition to the roof. And as the name of the package suggests, we work exclusively with top-quality Comfortmat materials from the Premium model range, and in the areas most affected by noise and vibration, we use materials from the top Expert range. Specifically, as part of this package, we soundproof the hood, front and rear doors, floor, luggage compartment, front and rear wheel arches from the inside and the fifth door. Compared to the Standard package, we therefore not only choose significantly more effective anti-vibration and sound-insulating materials, but also soundproof the fifth door. The result is a rapid reduction in noise and an acceptable weight of the materials.

The Expert sound deadening package already includes complete vehicle sound deadening. Specifically, as part of this package, we focus on the hood, roof, torpedo, front, rear and fifth doors, floor, luggage compartment and on the front and rear wheel arches from the inside of the car. We choose the same anti-vibration and soundproofing materials as with the Premium sound deadening package, but we also pay attention to the roof and the torpedo. This will enable comprehensive soundproofing without the risk of increased noise in places where additional sound insulation has not been carried out. With the Expert soundproofing package, you get not only rapid noise reduction, but also thermal insulation, and is therefore the most recommended solution if the car is not equipped with a sunroof or a panoramic roof.
