Volvo S60 - soundproofing of the front and rear doors

Soundproofing of the front and rear doors of a Volvo S60. If you want to reduce noise in the car's interior, it's sensible to start with the doors. A large amount of noise enters the cabin through them, and well-soundproofed doors can significantly reduce interior noise. Front and rear doors are soundproofed in a total of four layers. First we apply the premium anti-vibration material Comfortmat D2 to the outer metal and then the noise-reducing material Comfortmat Integra, which is specially designed for vehicle doors. Thanks to its unique noise-reducing membrane, this material has an unrivalled ability to reduce noise by up to -28 dB and also offers thermal insulation properties. We then apply the Comfortmat D2 anti-vibration material again to the inner metal of the door. The final step is soundproofing the door upholstery using the flexible molded foam Comfortmat Soft Wave. This prevents noise propagation in this area and also stops plastic squeaks and rattles. An additional bonus of door soundproofing is a significant improvement in the sound of the factory speakers, especially the bass component of the mid-woofer.  View products >Hide products >
