BMW 5 (E60) - Audison sound system with DSP processor and soundproofing of the doors

Premium sound from Italian Audison for the BMW 5 (E60). The new system excels not only with its sound but especially with an installation that requires no intervention in the original electrical system. Audison offers a complete sound system with specific cabling that ensures integration with the factory system without the need to cut, solder, or run new conventional wiring. In this particular vehicle there was only the basic BMW audio. This equipment includes paper full-range speakers in the front doors and the headliner, and under the seats you will find paper subwoofers with a diameter of 165 mm. All speakers are connected to the head unit without an external amplifier. What is most striking about this system is the absence of tweeters. The sound therefore lacks any detail, and if you expect even minimal quality, you will be very disappointed with the result. A complete speaker replacement and amplifier installation is in this case slightly more demanding than with the higher-spec Hi‑Fi Sound System. The reason is that this trim does not include a factory amplifier and the speakers and subwoofers are wired to the factory head unit. However, Audison thought of everything, and installation in this car is also carried out as Plug & Play installation without any intervention in the original wiring, with no soldering or cutting and everything solved using identical connectors. This way you do not risk voiding the new car warranty and it is possible to remove the new system and reinstall the original at any time, for example when selling the vehicle. So what did the installation include? In the front doors we replaced the original full-range speakers with component speakers with separate tweeters from Audison, which we mounted into new original BMW housings. In the rear parcel shelf we installed Audison coaxial speakers and under the front seats we swapped the original 165 mm paper subwoofers for powerful Audison subwoofers with a 200 mm cone. Installation of all speakers and subwoofers is very simple thanks to the identical shapes of the speakers and connectors. The most demanding part of the entire installation is mounting the amplifier. To use the factory cabling, it is necessary to run the amplifier's original Plug & Play Audison wiring to the head unit and to the subwoofers. Again, everything is installed without altering the original wiring; we simply clip the new wiring onto the existing harness, which only Audison's solution can do. For this install we chose the more powerful version of the Audison Forza amplifier to fully exploit the new speakers and subwoofers. The final phase of the installation is tuning the sound on the DSP processor, where we set crossovers, filters, time alignment and a detailed equalizer. The result is a top-tier sound system tailored to the vehicle that significantly outperforms even the optional Harman Kardon and Bang & Olufsen systems. View products >Hide products >
