Audi Q3 - noise reduction of wheel arches and engine

Soundproofing of the front and rear wheel arches and the engine compartment of an Audi Q3. The owner wanted to reduce noise in these problematic areas that trouble most cars, Audi included. Audi models typically have textile front and rear wheel arch covers, so we always soundproof the body itself in two layers. In this case, due to very limited space, we had to choose thinner materials, specifically the anti-vibration Comfortmat D3 at 3 mm thickness and Comfortmat Integra at 6 mm. A total thickness of 9 mm was the maximum that could be installed. Anti-vibration material. Thanks to the combination of very effective anti-vibration material and a membrane sound-insulating material, we were able to significantly reduce especially low-frequency noise, which is mainly caused by the tyres. For the engine compartment we soundproofed the hood with two layers again of anti-vibration and sound (and thermal) insulating material. Because this was applied to the inner side of the factory engine cover, we naturally preserved the original appearance of the hood. We also soundproofed the dashboard, which is large in Audi vehicles and whose soundproofing can significantly reduce engine noise. For this area we again choose the anti-vibration material Comfortmat D2 and as the second layer the absolutely waterproof Comfortmat Neoprene, which is ideal for this application due to its properties.View products >Hide products >
