Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Mercedes ACV SWC 42A-1190-004-0

Retain the original radio control functions from the steering wheel when replacing the original radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on the vehicle's equipment, the range of functions, and the software of the newly installed radio, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the displayed wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle to ensure they match both technically and visually. Check if one of the listed OEM radios was originally installed. Before final installation, verify vehicle functionality, system settings, and proper functioning of steering wheel controls (SWC).

Designed for cars

Mercedes CLS-class (W219) (10/2004 -> 06/2008) - original OEM radio.
Mercedes E-class (S211/W211) (03/2002 -> 02/2008) - original OEM radio. Electrical compartment function supported when engine running.
Mercedes SLK-class (R171) (03/2004 -> 03/2008) - original OEM radio.

Connectors and Power:

Connector: 40 Pin Quadlock MB2 Mercedes.

Settings:

Check DIP switches on the aftermarket radio (HU).

Vehicle Compatibility:

Vehicles with 2-DIN Audio 20 OEM HU.
Vehicles without 2-DIN Audio 50 APS Comand NTG2 / NTG2.5 OEM Sat Nav.
Vehicles without Audiogateway.
Vehicles without Harman Kardon OEM amplifier.

Special Cases:

For vehicles with Audio 50 APS Comand NTG2 / NTG2.5, time setting is not supported – code vehicle to Audio 20 OEM HU if possible.
Item 13-1190-51-1 is not compatible.

Diagnostic LED Indication:

Blue flashing: searching for CAN Bus signal.
Blue steady: CAN Bus active.
Red steady: active +12 V ignition current.

Important Additional Information

Designed for aftermarket radios Sony, Kenwood, Panasonic, JVC, Pioneer, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Alpine, LG, Zenec, Becker.
To fully activate the adapter, a specific brand radio connecting cable must be ordered.

General Installation Instructions

Pre-installation Verification:

Check all control functions and vehicle settings with the original OEM head unit.
Disconnect the original radio (OEM HU) without power.
Check all interface connections to ensure they are properly connected - without power.

Connection and Installation Order:

Check the interface settings and HW configuration - without power.
Check the configuration of the connecting cable to the HU - without power.
Connect the cable to the HU according to the aftermarket device instructions.
Connect other wires according to the device instructions.
Connect the entire installation to the vehicle - connect the main power connection last.
Perform software configuration of the interface according to product description or manual instructions.
Configure the aftermarket HU (e.g., steering wheel control, camera, handsfree, antenna power).
Perform a functional test of steering wheel control and vehicle communication.

Changing Interface and HU Cable Configuration:

Make all changes without power.
Repeat steps 5 to 8 listed above.

In Case of Interface or Vehicle System Malfunction:

Reinstall the original OEM HU.
Start the original unit.
Trigger CAN Bus system shutdown.
Check the interface HW configuration.
After CAN Bus shutdown, repeat steps 5 and 6 listed above.

When Modifying Connections or Wiring:

Only professionally trained personnel may perform connections and modifications.
