Preserve the original steering wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on the vehicle equipment, the range of functions and the software of the newly installed head unit, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the shown wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and make sure they match both technically and visually. Check whether one of the listed OEM head units was originally installed. Before final installation, verify vehicle functionality, system settings and correct operation of the steering wheel control (SWC).

Settings:

Check DIP switches according to the user manual (BDA).

Special notes:

For some models modification or coding of the gray OEM connector at a service center may be required.
On models with OEM navigation / OEM camera, checking and measuring pins before installation is required.

Diagnostic LED indication:

Blue light: interface active, +12V ignition power present.
Red light: steering wheel control button press detected.

Important additional information

Intended for aftermarket head units from Sony, Kenwood, Panasonic, JVC, Pioneer, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Alpine, LG, Zenec, Becker.
To fully activate the adapter it is necessary to order the connection cable for the specific head unit brand.

General installation instructions

Verification before installation:

Check all steering wheel control functions and vehicle settings with the original OEM head unit.
Disconnect the original radio (OEM HU) with power off.
Check all interface connections to ensure they are correctly connected – with power off.

Connections and wiring sequence:

Check the interface settings and hardware configuration – with power off.
Check the configuration of the connection cable to the HU – with power off.
Connect the cable to the HU according to the aftermarket device manual.
Connect the other wires according to the device instructions.
Connect the entire installation to the vehicle – connect the main power connection last.
Perform the software configuration of the interface according to the product description or manual.
Configure the aftermarket HU (e.g. steering wheel control, camera, handsfree, antenna power).
Perform a functional test of the steering wheel control and communication with the vehicle.

Changing the interface and HU cable configuration:

Make all changes with power off.
Repeat steps 5 to 8 listed above.

In case of interface or vehicle system malfunction:

Reinstall the original OEM HU.
Start the original unit.
Initiate CAN Bus shutdown.
Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
After CAN Bus shutdown, repeat steps 5 and 6 listed above.

When modifying wiring or cable routing:

Wiring and modifications may only be performed by professionally trained personnel.
All changes must be verified in terms of manufacturer approval or impact on the vehicle warranty before connection.
All modifications must be verified by measurement and comparison with the vehicle wiring diagram before connection.
