SGM Cloud is an innovative sound-absorbing material from the premium SGM Prime range that combines three acoustic principles – absorption, reflection and insulation. Its unique multi-layer structure with variable wave impedance achieves record efficiency of up to 97% at 2000 Hz, making it one of the most effective materials for vehicle soundproofing. Special volumetric geometry combined with a soft structure ensures high efficiency in the 315–2250 Hz range, which is the most sensitive area of human hearing. Compared to traditional foam materials, absorption efficiency is up to 150% higher, while Cloud retains low weight, flexibility and easy application. The material is equipped with a self-adhesive acrylic layer that simplifies installation on both horizontal and vertical surfaces. In practice it is primarily used on the vehicle roof, inner door linings and other areas requiring top acoustic performance.

How to apply

SGM Cloud is used to absorb and also insulate noise in areas such as plastic door linings and roofs. Thanks to its shape flexibility you can use the material wherever it is difficult to apply thicker materials. For roofs it is applied as a second layer over anti-vibration material; for plastic door panels Cloud alone is sufficient, although for maximum effect we also recommend applying an anti-vibration material as the first layer. The most common uses of the SGM Cloud damping material are:
