Kia Ceed - noise reduction and new sound system with DSP processor
Soundproofing and audio upgrade of a third-generation Kia Ceed. The owner, a demanding music lover, wanted to significantly improve his car's sound system. Given the client's requirements and the chosen budget, we selected speakers from Israeli sound masters Morel, which in their price range practically always deliver an unrivaled audio experience. To fully exploit the potential of Morel speakers from the Tempo Ultra series, we also installed an eight-channel Audison amplifier with an integrated DSP processor, which proudly bears the "Best Product" label in its category from the respected EISA organization. On the processor we set crossovers, filters, time alignment, slopes and a detailed equalizer and finally tuned the sound together with the owner according to his preferences. To be able to fully enjoy the new audio system on long trips, it was necessary to thoroughly soundproof the car as well. The popular Korean model is practical, comfortable and stylish. However, it is noisy. Compared to the previous generation there has been some improvement mainly in vibration protection, which you can see on the floor and spotwise on the rear wheel arches and the trunk floor, but of course this is entirely insufficient. The car thus suffers from fairly significant noise penetrating through the front and rear wheel arches, doors and floor. We soundproofed all these and other areas with top anti-vibration and acoustic insulation materials from the Russian manufacturer SGM from the top Prime series, which guarantees the most effective soundproofing available today. We therefore focused on all essential areas of the car, specifically the front, rear and fifth doors, the floor, the luggage compartment including the rear wheel arches, the hood and the front wheel arches. SGM materials also have thermal insulation properties, which you will appreciate both in winter and in summer. Three of our technicians work on the soundproofing at the same time, and they can complete the installation within one working day. Our basic Standard soundproofing includes soundproofing of all important areas of the car, focusing not only on high efficiency, but also at an affordable price. In particular, we are dedicated to soundproofing the hood, front and rear doors, trunk, floor and front and rear wheel arches from the inside. We use Comfortmat anti-vibration and sound-insulating materials, especially from the Standard model series, thanks to which we are able to reduce the price to a lower level. However, we apply the same materials as in the Premium soundproofing package to the areas most affected by noise. Thanks to this, our basic package already enables highly effective noise reduction, which at the given price has no equivalent on our market.

The Standard Light sound deadening package is intended for all customers who require a very effective sound deadening of the car, but taking into account the low weight of the materials. We soundproof the same areas as the Standard package, i.e. the hood, front and rear doors, floor, trunk and front and rear wheel arches. However, we use different materials that excel in light weight while maintaining high efficiency. In the first and second layers of noise reduction, we apply lightweight anti-vibration and sound-insulating materials, which allow for 30 percent lower weight and at the same time only slightly lower efficiency than with the Standard package. Compared to our most efficient Expert and Expert Plus packages, this is a weight reduction of up to 50 percent.

Our most popular Premium sound deadening package includes almost complete vehicle sound deadening in addition to the roof. And as the name of the package suggests, we work exclusively with top-quality Comfortmat materials from the Premium model range, and in the areas most affected by noise and vibration, we use materials from the top Expert range. Specifically, as part of this package, we soundproof the hood, front and rear doors, floor, luggage compartment, front and rear wheel arches from the inside and the fifth door. Compared to the Standard package, we therefore not only choose significantly more effective anti-vibration and sound-insulating materials, but also soundproof the fifth door. The result is a rapid reduction in noise and an acceptable weight of the materials.

The Expert sound deadening package already includes complete vehicle sound deadening. Specifically, as part of this package, we focus on the hood, roof, torpedo, front, rear and fifth doors, floor, luggage compartment and on the front and rear wheel arches from the inside of the car. We choose the same anti-vibration and soundproofing materials as with the Premium sound deadening package, but we also pay attention to the roof and the torpedo. This will enable comprehensive soundproofing without the risk of increased noise in places where additional sound insulation has not been carried out. With the Expert soundproofing package, you get not only rapid noise reduction, but also thermal insulation, and is therefore the most recommended solution if the car is not equipped with a sunroof or a panoramic roof.
