Preserve the original steering wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory head unit with an aftermarket unit. Depending on the vehicle equipment, the range of functions and the software of the newly installed head unit, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the shown wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and make sure they match both technically and visually. Verify whether one of the listed OEM head units was originally installed. Before final installation, check vehicle functionality, system settings and correct operation of the steering wheel control (SWC).

CAN Bus information

Connectors and power:

  • Connectors: 40 Pin or 52 Pin Quadlock VAG.
  • OEM steering wheel control connection: 3.5 mm jack or spare (loose) wire.

Settings:

  • DIP switch settings according to the aftermarket unit manufacturer (see BDA).

Vehicle compatibility:

  • Supported vehicles: Seat, Skoda, VW with MIB-PQ system and Quadlock connector.
  • Supported Skoda vehicles with Bolero/Stream HU, Amundsen/Columbus Sat Nav.
  • Supported VW vehicles with RCD200–510 HU and RNS315/510 Sat Nav.
  • Seat Mii, Skoda Citigo, VW UP! vehicles with an instrument monitor on the dashboard are not supported.
  • For 40 Pin Quadlock with OEM amplifier the LFB 42a-1324-001 adapter is required.
  • On 52 Pin Quadlock vehicle settings and E-Call functions are not supported.
  • For E-Call the 1424-02 adapter is required.
  • For vehicles with an OEM camera the 771324-1037 adapter is required.
  • Vehicles with RCD320 ISO connector are not supported.

Special cases and warnings:

  • Reimported vehicles or vehicles with different software may have limited functionality.

Important additional information

  • Compatible with aftermarket head units that have a CAN Bus input.
  • For full activation of the adapter it is necessary to order the connection cable for the specific head unit brand.

General installation instructions

Checks before installation:

  1. Check all control functions and vehicle settings with the OEM HU.
  2. Disconnect the OEM HU with the power off.
  3. Check all interface connections – with the power off.

Connections and wiring sequence:

  1. Set the HW configuration of the interface – with the power off.
  2. Check the configuration of the connection cable to the HU – with the power off.
  3. Connect the cable to the HU according to the aftermarket unit manual.
  4. Connect the other wires according to the device manual.
  5. Connect the entire installation to the vehicle – main power last.
  6. Perform SW configuration of the interface according to the instructions.
  7. Configure the aftermarket HU (SWC, camera, handsfree, antenna power, etc.).
  8. Verify SWC functionality and vehicle system operation.

Changing configuration:

  • Make all changes with the power off.
  • After changes repeat installation steps 5 to 8.

In case of fault:

  • Reinstall the OEM HU.
  • Start the OEM HU.
  • Initiate CAN Bus shutdown.
  • Check the HW configuration of the interface.
  • After CAN Bus shutdown repeat installation steps 5 and 6.

When modifying wiring:

  • Wiring and modifications may only be performed by qualified personnel.
  • Changes must be approved by the manufacturer or may affect the warranty.
  • All modifications must be verified by measurement and comparison with the vehicle wiring diagram.
  • Modifications are made at your own risk.
