Retain the original steering wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on the vehicle equipment, available functions and the software of the newly installed radio, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the shown wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and make sure they match both technically and visually. Check whether one of the listed OEM head units was originally installed. Before final installation verify vehicle functions, system settings and proper operation of the steering wheel control (SWC).

CAN Bus information

Connectors and power:

  • Connector: 40-pin VAG Quadlock.
  • OEM steering wheel control connection: 3.5 mm jack or free wire.
  • OEM antenna connection: Fakra (male) to DIN.
  • Blue wire: +12V antenna remote.

Settings:

  • Set DIP switches according to the aftermarket unit manufacturer (see aftermarket unit documentation).

Vehicle compatibility:

  • Supported: Seat, Škoda and VW vehicles with a Quadlock connector.
  • Vehicles with OEM amplifier require the LFB 42a-1324-001 adapter.
  • Seat vehicles except Seat Exeo (3R) (03/2009 -> 05/2013).
  • Škoda vehicles with Bolero/Stream HU, Amundsen/Columbus OEM satellite navigation.
  • Škoda vehicles without Technisat OEM HU.
  • VW vehicles with RCD200-510 OEM HU, RNS315/510 OEM satellite navigation.
  • Not supported: RCD320 OEM HU with ISO connector.

Special cases and warnings:

  • Reimported vehicles or vehicles with different software may have limited functionality.

Important additional information

  • Compatible with aftermarket head units that have a CAN Bus input.
  • A brand-specific connection cable must be ordered to fully activate the adapter.

General installation instructions

Checks before installation:

  1. Verify all functions and vehicle settings with the OEM head unit.
  2. Disconnect the OEM head unit from power.
  3. Check all interface connections – without power.

Connection and wiring sequence:

  1. Set the hardware configuration of the interface – without power.
  2. Check the configuration of the connection cable to the head unit – without power.
  3. Connect the cable to the head unit according to the aftermarket unit instructions.
  4. Connect the remaining wires according to the device manual.
  5. Connect the entire installation to the vehicle – main power last.
  6. Perform the software configuration of the interface according to the instructions.
  7. Configure the aftermarket head unit (SWC, camera, handsfree, antenna power, etc.).
  8. Verify SWC functionality and overall vehicle system operation.

Changing the configuration:

  • Make all changes with the power off.
  • After changes, repeat installation steps 5 to 8.

In case of malfunction:

  • Reinstall the OEM head unit.
  • Start the OEM head unit.
  • Initiate CAN Bus shutdown.
  • Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
  • After CAN Bus shutdown, repeat installation steps 5 and 6.

When modifying wiring:

  • Wiring and modifications must be performed only by qualified personnel.
  • Changes must be approved by the manufacturer or may affect the warranty.
  • All modifications must be verified by measurement and compared with the vehicle wiring diagram.
  • Modifications are carried out at your own risk, without guarantee of functionality.
  • Modifications may cause damage to the vehicle, radio or interface.
  • Wiring changes may result in loss of product warranty.
