Preserve the original steering wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Settings:

Check the DIP switches on the aftermarket head unit (HU).

Vehicle compatibility:

Vehicles with original head units Audio 5/10/20/30/40.
Vehicles with OEM navigation systems Audio 30 APS, Audio 50 APS, Comand NTG 2/2.5.
Vehicles with Browse 1-DIN (Citan, Sprinter).

Vehicles with OEM amplifier:

An active system adapter is required depending on the type (MOST to RCA, ISO to ISO).

Diagnostic LED indication:

Blue blinking: searching for CAN Bus signal.
Blue steady: CAN Bus active.
Red steady: ignition +12V present.

Important additional information

Intended for aftermarket head units by Sony, Kenwood, Panasonic, JVC, Pioneer, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Alpine, LG, Zenec, Becker.
To fully activate the adapter, you must order the connection cable for the specific head unit brand.

General installation instructions

Pre-installation verification:

Check all steering wheel control functions and vehicle settings with the original OEM head unit installed.
Disconnect the original radio (OEM HU) with power off.
Check all interface connections to ensure they are correctly connected – with power off.

Connection and wiring sequence:

Check the interface settings and hardware configuration – with power off.
Check the configuration of the connection cable to the HU – with power off.
Connect the cable to the HU according to the aftermarket device manual.
Connect the other wires according to the device manual.
Connect the entire installation to the vehicle – connect the main power connection last.
Perform the software configuration of the interface according to the product description or manual.
Configure the aftermarket HU (e.g. steering wheel control, camera, handsfree, antenna power).
Perform a functional test of steering wheel control and communication with the vehicle.

Changing the interface configuration and HU cable:

Make all changes with power off.
Repeat steps 5 to 8 listed above.

If the interface or vehicle system fails:

Reinstall the original OEM HU.
Start the original unit.
Invoke CAN Bus shutdown.
Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
After CAN Bus shutdown, repeat steps 5 and 6 above.

When modifying wiring or cable routing:

Wiring and modifications must only be performed by professionally trained personnel.
All changes must be verified for manufacturer approval or impact on the vehicle warranty before connection.
All modifications must be verified by measurement and compared with the vehicle wiring diagram before connection.
