Retains the original steering wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on vehicle equipment, scope of functions and software of the newly installed radio, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the displayed wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and make sure they match both technically and visually. Check whether one of the listed OEM radios was originally installed. Before final installation verify vehicle functionality, system settings and correct operation of the steering wheel controls (SWC).

Vehicles with E-Call: module for retaining E-Call for applicable vehicles (52-pin Quadlock).
Vehicles with an OEM rear camera: rear camera adapter for various VW cars with MIB-PQ.

Diagnostic LED indications:

Blue flashing: searching for CAN Bus.
Blue steady: CAN Bus active.
Red steady: +12 V ignition power active.

Important additional information

Intended for aftermarket radios from Alpine, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Digital Dynamics, ESX, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Snooper, Sony, XZent, Zenec and others (multilead solutions).
A brand-specific connection cable must be ordered to fully activate the adapter.

General installation instructions

Pre-installation checks:

Check all control functions and vehicle settings with the original OEM head unit.
Remove the original radio (OEM HU) with the power off.
Check all interface connections for correct wiring – with power off.

Connections and wiring order:

Perform interface settings and hardware configuration with the power off.
Check the configuration of the connection cable to the HU.
Connect the cable to the HU according to the instructions of the aftermarket device.
Connect the other wires according to the device manual.
Connect the entire installation to the vehicle – attach the main power connection last.
Perform the software configuration of the interface according to the product description and the user manual.
Configure the aftermarket HU (steering wheel control, camera, handsfree, antenna power and others).
Perform a functional test of the steering wheel control and communication with the vehicle.

Changing the interface configuration and HU cable:

Make all changes with the power off.
After changes repeat steps 5 to 8 listed above.

If the interface or vehicle system fails:

Reinstall the original OEM HU in the vehicle.
Start the original unit.
Allow the CAN Bus system to settle (go to sleep).
Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
After the CAN Bus has settled, repeat steps 5 to 8 listed above.

When modifying wiring or cable routing:

Wiring and modifications must only be carried out by professionally trained personnel.
All modifications must be verified for manufacturer approval or impact on vehicle warranty before connection.
All modifications must be verified by measurement and comparison with the vehicle wiring diagram before connection.
