Steering wheel button control adapter for Audi ACV SWC 42SAD003-0

Retain the original steering wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on the vehicle's equipment, the range of functions and the software of the newly installed head unit, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the displayed wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and make sure they match both technically and visually. Check whether one of the listed OEM head units was originally installed. Before final installation, verify the vehicle functionality, system settings and proper operation of the steering wheel control (SWC).

Intended for vehicles

• Audi A2 (8Z) (11/1999 -> 07/2005) - original radio Blaupunkt, Matsushita, Grundig Concert II, Symphony II, or Chorus II 1-DIN with 2 rotary controls.
• Audi A3 (8L) (08/2000 -> 06/2003) - original radio Blaupunkt, Matsushita, Grundig Concert II, Symphony II, or Chorus II 1-DIN with 2 rotary controls.
• Audi A3 (8P) (07/2003 -> 05/2005) - original radio Blaupunkt, Matsushita, Grundig Concert II, Symphony II, or Chorus II 1-DIN with 2 rotary controls.
• Audi A4 (B6/B7) (11/2000 -> 02/2009) - original radio Blaupunkt, Matsushita, Grundig Concert II, Symphony II, or Chorus II 1-DIN with 2 rotary controls.
• Audi A6 (4B/C5) (05/2001 -> 03/2006) - original radio Blaupunkt, Matsushita, Grundig Concert II, Symphony II, or Chorus II 1-DIN with 2 rotary controls.
• Audi TT (8N) (09/1998 -> 07/2006) - original radio Blaupunkt, Matsushita, Grundig Concert II, Symphony II, or Chorus II 1-DIN with 2 rotary controls.

CAN Bus Information

Connectors and power:

• Connector: ISO / Mini ISO
• Connection: 2-channel / 4-channel OEM audio system via Cinch (front/rear)
• For unknown Audi connector use item 42sad00c with ISO/Mini ISO and 40 pin Quadlock harness
• Blue wire: +12 V amplifier remote (Amp Remote)

Settings and limitations:

• For vehicles with OEM units Blaupunkt, Matsushita, Grundig Concert II, Symphony II, Chorus II 1-DIN with 2 rotary controls
• For aftermarket radios with pre-out level below 3 V use adapter LFB Audi A2/A3/A4/A6/TT ISO/Mini ISO Amp 2/4 channel (42sad008)

Signals provided by the adapter:

• Red: +12 V ignition (Klemme 15)
• Orange: +12 V illumination (Klemme 58)
• Purple/white: +12 V reverse signal
• Green: GND parking brake
• Maximum load: 100 mA
• For load above 100 mA: 1 relay min. 75 Ohm, 2 relays min. 150 Ohm

Important Additional Information

• Suitable for aftermarket head units Alpine, Parrot, Bosch-Blaupunkt, Blaupunkt, China HU, Kenwood, Clarion, Garmin, JVC, Panasonic, Pioneer, Sony, XZent, Zenec and others (multilead solution)
• To fully activate the adapter, a connection cable must be ordered for the specific head unit brand

General Installation Instructions

Verification Before Installation:

1. Check all control functions and vehicle settings using the original OEM HU.
2. Disconnect the original radio (OEM HU) in a voltage-free condition.
3. Check all interface connections – without power.

Connection and Installation Sequence:

1. Set and check the HW configuration of the interface – without power.
2. Check the configuration of the HU connection cable – without power.
3. Connect the cable to the HU according to the aftermarket device manual.
4. Connect the remaining wires according to the device manual.
5. Connect the complete installation to the vehicle – connect the main power supply last.
6. Perform the software configuration of the interface according to the product description or manual.
7. Configure the aftermarket HU (steering wheel control, camera, handsfree, antenna power etc.).
8. Perform a functional test of steering wheel control and vehicle communication.

Configuration Changes:

• All changes must be carried out without power.
• After changes repeat steps 5 to 8 above.

In Case of Failure:

• Reinstall the original OEM HU.
• Start the original unit.
• Initiate CAN Bus shutdown.
• Check the HW configuration of the interface.
• After CAN Bus shutdown repeat steps 5 and 8.

When Modifying Wiring:

• Installation and modifications may only be carried out by professionally trained personnel.
• All changes must be verified before connection regarding manufacturer approval or impact on vehicle warranty.
• All modifications must be verified by measurement and comparison with the vehicle wiring diagram.
• Modifications are carried out at your own responsibility without guarantee of functionality.
• Modifications are performed at your own risk without guarantee against damage to the vehicle, device or interface.
• Modifications of pre-installed wiring may result in loss of product warranty.
