Steering wheel button control adapter for Ford ACV SWC 42XFO003-0

Preserve the original radio control functions from the steering wheel when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on vehicle equipment, scope of functions and the software of the newly installed radio, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the shown wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and make sure they match both technically and visually. Check whether one of the listed OEM head units was originally installed. Before final assembly, verify vehicle functionality, system settings and correct operation of the steering wheel controls.

CAN Bus information

  • Connector: 40-pin Ford Quadlock.
  • Output for OEM steering wheel control: 3.5 mm jack or open wire.
  • Analog steering wheel control.

  • Supported OEM navigation: Audio Systems OEM Sat Nav with front card slot.
  • Vehicles without 7" OEM color Sat Nav display with integrated climate control.
  • Vehicles without CAN Bus supported parking assist (PDC).

Important additional information

  • Provided signals: red – +12V terminal 15, orange – +12V illumination terminal 58, purple/white – +12V reverse signal, pink – speed signal, green – parking brake GND signal.
  • Maximum output load: 250 mA. For current draw over 250 mA use a relay with a resistive coil of at least 75 Ohm (1 relay) or 150 Ohm (2 relays).
  • To fully activate the adapter it is necessary to order a connection cable for the specific brand of head unit.

General installation instructions

Checks before installation:

  1. Check all vehicle functions and settings with the original OEM head unit.
  2. Remove the original radio with power disconnected.
  3. Check all interface connections to ensure they are correctly connected – with power disconnected.

Connections and wiring order:

  1. Perform interface settings and hardware configuration with power disconnected.
  2. Check the configuration of the connection cable to the head unit (HU).
  3. Connect the cable to the HU according to the aftermarket device manual.
  4. Connect the remaining wires according to the device manual.
  5. Connect the entire installation to the vehicle – connect the main power last.
  6. Perform the software configuration of the interface according to the instructions in the product description or manual.
  7. Configure the aftermarket HU (steering wheel controls, camera, handsfree, antenna power, etc.).
  8. Perform a functional test of the steering wheel controls and communication with the vehicle.

Changing the interface and HU cable configuration:

  • Make all changes with power disconnected.
  • After changes repeat steps 5 to 8 listed above.

In case of interface or vehicle system malfunction:

  • Reinstall the original OEM head unit.
  • Start the original unit.
  • Wait for the CAN Bus system to sleep.
  • Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
  • After the CAN Bus has entered sleep mode, repeat steps 5 to 8 listed above.

When modifying wiring or cable routing:

  • Wiring and modifications must be performed only by professionally trained personnel.
  • All changes must be verified for manufacturer approval or impact on the vehicle warranty before connection.
  • All modifications must be verified by measurement and comparison with the vehicle wiring diagram before connection.
  • Modifications are made at your own risk, without guarantee of functionality.
  • Modifications are carried out at your own risk, with no guarantee against damage to the vehicle, device or interface.
  • Changes to pre-fitted wiring may result in loss of product warranty.
