BMW 5 (G31) - complete sound system with DSP processor

Installation of a top‑end audio system into a BMW 5 (G31) from the Italian manufacturer Audison, exceptional not only for its superior sound and high power but also for installation without the slightest alteration to the original wiring. This is thanks to a sophisticated system with cabling that ensures full integration with the factory head unit without any cutting, soldering or running new wires. Audison’s speakers and subwoofers match the original speakers in dimensions, shape, mounting and connectors, making the solution Plug & Play. It therefore cannot happen that you lose the new‑car warranty, the audio system can be removed at any time and everything returned to its original state, and of course the installation time is greatly reduced. In this particular vehicle the 'optional' Hi‑Fi Sound System (Option 676) included component speakers in the front doors, coaxial speakers in the rear doors and 200 mm subwoofers under the seats. Everything was connected to the factory amplifier in the trunk. However, the sound quality did not match the car’s price and was rather mediocre. The new source for the speakers is an eight‑channel digital amplifier with an Audison DSP processor, which supplies power to all speakers and subwoofers. Its main advantage is the installation: the amplifier is connected to the original wiring via a specific harness that used to go to the factory amplifier. We therefore reuse the original power, ground and speaker cables without any modification. The final stage of the installation is tuning the speakers on the DSP processor. In an intuitive program we set the speaker layout, bridge the subwoofers for higher output, set crossovers, time delays based on speaker placement and detailed equalization. The result is high‑quality sound tuned specifically for the vehicle, whose quality and power significantly surpass even higher‑end optional systems from Harmann Kardon or Bang & Olufsen. At the customer’s request, and unlike other BMW installations, we additionally installed a small subwoofer in the trunk and the necessary monoblock, both also from Audison. This noticeably strengthened the already solid dynamics of the new system, and it must be said that this subwoofer works wonders. Although the subwoofers located in the original space under the seats can produce strong and precise bass, a 250 mm subwoofer in a sealed enclosure with 400 W RMS delivers incomparably greater output despite its still very compact dimensions. The subwoofer can of course be easily removed from the trunk at any time.View products >Hide products >
