This unique zinc-based primer spray provides first-class corrosion protection for steel and metal surfaces. Thanks to an extremely high zinc content it works by sacrificial (cathodic) protection, ensuring exceptional durability even in the toughest conditions. It is an ideal choice for local repairs to bodywork, underbody parts and industrial structures.

After application and curing this anti-corrosion product forms a surface layer containing more than 90% pure metallic zinc. Closely packed zinc particles create an electrically conductive path, providing cathodic protection to the underlying steel. This is the same principle used in hot-dip galvanizing, which is known for its long-lasting resistance in aggressive environments.

Unlike traditional hot-dip galvanizing, which requires immersion of parts in molten metal, this product delivers the benefits of a zinc layer in an easily applicable spray form. It is therefore perfect for large parts, non-portable structures or for precise restoration of classics and everyday cars. Cathodic protection also ensures that the steel remains protected even if the top layer is mechanically damaged or scratched.

The product is recommended for protection of underbodies, floor panels, suspension arms, sills and other highly stressed vehicle parts. It is also used in industry, for example to protect harbour piers, pylons or coastal structures exposed to salt water. The cured film can be left as-is or overcoated with a wide range of topcoats or stone-chip protective sprays.

How to use

• Before application thoroughly clean the surface, remove grease, oil, mill scale and loose rust.
• The product can also be applied to steel cleaned with a wire brush after removing loose corrosion flakes.
• Shake the spray well before use and during application so that settled zinc particles are fully re-suspended.
• Apply one full coat with an even spray and ensure all edges are thoroughly covered.
• For extreme exposure or aggressive environments we recommend applying a second coat after 3 hours.
• The surface is touch-dry within 20 to 30 minutes and fully cured after 3 hours.
• Overpainting is possible after full curing; for solvent-borne topcoats we recommend waiting 24 hours.
• If the surface will be exposed to mechanical wear from flying stones, an additional protective topcoat is recommended.
