Deox-Gel is a highly effective viscous rust remover designed specifically for surfaces and objects that cannot be immersed in a conventional deoxidising bath with Deox-C due to their size or shape. This environmentally friendly gel actively removes corrosion without damaging the sound metal beneath. Thanks to its thixotropic consistency it does not run and allows easy application even on vertical surfaces.

Common mechanical corrosion removal methods such as sanding, blasting or wire-wheel grinding carry the risk of damaging sound steel around the rusty area. Blasting can also leave abrasive residues in the metal, which often leads to premature failure of subsequent coatings and the return of corrosion. This gel eliminates the risk of deforming thin steel panels and preserves the structural integrity of the treated material.

The gel's formulation is designed to be maximally gentle to surrounding materials. The active agents do not act aggressively on glass, plastics, aluminium or chrome, which makes work on complex assemblies much easier without the need for complete disassembly. The gel works independently without constant mechanical scrubbing, saving your time and physical effort during restoration work.

How to use

• Before application degrease the surface thoroughly with a suitable water-based cleaner.
• Apply a sufficient amount of gel to the rusted metal and spread it with a brush, spatula or piece of cardboard.
• The gel must be applied in a thick and even layer; avoid spreading it into too thin a film.
• Cover the treated area with plastic foil to prevent the gel from drying out and to retain the required moisture.
• Leave the product to act for approximately 12 hours undisturbed.
• After this time remove the foil and wipe off the layer of dark gel with a spatula or scraper.
• Scrub the surface thoroughly with a stiff plastic-bristle brush and rinse with plenty of water.
• We recommend treating the surface afterwards with a suitable anti-corrosion protection.
