Retain the original steering wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on the vehicle equipment, range of functions and the software of the newly installed head unit, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the displayed wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and ensure they match both technically and visually. Check whether one of the listed OEM head units was originally installed. Before final assembly, verify vehicle functionality, system settings and correct operation of the steering wheel control (SWC).

CAN Bus information

Connectors and power:

• Connectors: 20-pin Suzuki.
• OEM steering wheel control connection: 3.5 mm jack or spare wire to the SWC input of the head unit.

Settings:

• Set DIP switches according to the aftermarket unit manufacturer (see the aftermarket unit manual).

Vehicle compatibility:

• Analog steering wheel control (SWC).

Special cases and warnings:

• Reimported vehicles or vehicles with different software may have limited functionality.

Important additional information

• Compatible with aftermarket head units that have an analog input for steering wheel control.
• To fully activate the adapter, it is necessary to order the connection cable specific to the brand of head unit.

General installation instructions

Checks before installation:

1. Check all control functions and vehicle settings with the original OEM head unit installed.
2. Disconnect the original radio (OEM head unit) with power off.
3. Check all interface connections to ensure they are correctly connected — with power off.

Connections and wiring sequence:

1. Set and check the hardware configuration of the interface — with power off.
2. Check the configuration of the connection cable to the head unit — with power off.
3. Connect the cable to the head unit according to the aftermarket device manual.
4. Connect the remaining wires as per the device manual.
5. Connect the entire installation to the vehicle — attach the main power connection last.
6. Perform the software configuration of the interface following the product description or manual.
7. Configure the aftermarket head unit (steering wheel control, camera, handsfree, antenna power, etc.).
8. Perform a functional test of steering wheel controls and communication with the vehicle.

Changing interface configuration and head unit cable:

• Make all changes with power off.
• After changes, repeat steps 5 through 8 above.

In case of interface or vehicle system malfunction:

• Reinstall the original OEM head unit.
• Start the original unit.
• Trigger a CAN Bus system shutdown.
• Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
• After CAN Bus is shut down, repeat steps 5 and 6 above.

When modifying wiring or cable routing:

• Wiring and modifications must be carried out only by professionally trained personnel.
• All changes must be verified before connection regarding manufacturer approval or impact on the vehicle warranty.
• All modifications must be verified by measurement and comparison with the vehicle wiring diagram before connection.
