Maintain the original steering wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on vehicle equipment, the range of functions and the software of the newly installed radio, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the displayed wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and make sure they match both technically and visually. Check whether one of the listed OEM head units was originally installed. Before final installation, verify vehicle functionality, system settings and correct operation of the steering wheel controls (SWC).

• Mazda 6 hatchback (GH) (02/2008 -> 04/2010) vehicles with Panasonic / Matsushita CQ-EM4771AT OEM head unit without BOSE OEM amplifier system.
• Mazda 6 estate (GH) (04/2008 -> 04/2010) vehicles with Panasonic / Matsushita CQ-EM4771AT OEM head unit without BOSE OEM amplifier system.

CAN Bus information

Connectors and power:

• Connector: 24-pin Mazda.
• Connector: OEM SWC > 3.5 mm jack / spare wire.

Compatibility:

• Vehicles with Panasonic / Matsushita CQ-EM4771AT OEM head unit.
• Vehicles without BOSE OEM amplifier system.
• Supports date/time setting.
• Supports trip computer settings.

Important additional information

• For full activation of the adapter, you must order a connection cable specific to the radio brand.

General installation instructions

Checks before installation:

1. Check all control functions and vehicle settings with the original OEM head unit.
2. Disconnect the original radio (OEM head unit) from power.
3. Check all interface connections to ensure they are correctly connected – without power.

Connections and wiring sequence:

1. Check the interface settings and hardware configuration – without power.
2. Check the configuration of the radio connection cable – without power.
3. Connect the cable to the radio according to the aftermarket device manual.
4. Connect the remaining wires according to the device manual.
5. Connect the entire installation to the vehicle – connect the main power last.
6. Perform the software configuration of the interface according to the product description or manual.
7. Configure the aftermarket head unit (steering wheel control, camera, hands-free, antenna power and others).
8. Perform a functional test of the steering wheel controls and communication with the vehicle.

Changing interface configuration and head unit cable:

• Make all changes without power.
• After changes, repeat steps 5 to 8 listed above.

If the interface or vehicle system malfunctions:

• Reinstall the original OEM head unit.
• Start the original unit.
• Initiate CAN Bus system shutdown.
• Check the interface hardware configuration.
• After CAN Bus shutdown, repeat steps 5 and 6 listed above.

When modifying wiring or cable routing:

• Wiring and modifications may only be performed by properly trained personnel.
• All changes must be verified regarding manufacturer approval or impact on the vehicle warranty before connection.
• All modifications must be verified by measurement and compared with the vehicle wiring diagram before connection.
