How to Care for Polishing Pads

• Caring for polishing pads is very important for their longevity and future polishing capabilities.
• During work, the temperature of the pad itself is very important for its lifespan as it can heat up to high temperatures during paint polishing.
• If you polish the paint for a longer time and frequently overheat the pad, you significantly shorten its lifespan.
• Therefore, monitor the temperature and if the pad is overheated, let it cool down for a moment.
• Both the foam and the adhesive of the pad suffer at high temperatures.
• The polishing pad needs to be cleaned frequently during the polishing process, otherwise it will stop working and paint polishing will not be effective.
• Once the polishing pad is clogged with polishing paste, it needs to be addressed.
• You can use a medium-soft brush and set the polisher to lower speeds, running empty in your hand, and brush away the old paste. Just hold the brush in your hand and let the polisher rotate the pad.
• Be careful not to throw used paste onto the polished paint of the car during rotary cleaning.
• If you own an air compressor, you can use it in the same way to simply blow out the pad with the polisher on.
• After a successful machine polishing process, the pad also needs to be brought to a state where it can ideally be used again in the future.
• We recommend washing the polishing pad in a washing machine at 40 °C with a detergent used for microfiber.
• Never wash pads together with towels or cloths!
• Do not put pads in the dryer after washing; let them dry naturally placed on a drying towel with the polishing side down.
• If you don't have access to a washing machine, you can wash the pads by hand using an APC cleaner diluted at a ratio of 1:6.
• Polishing pads should be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a closed, clean plastic box.
