Volvo S90 - soundproofing of the front and rear wheel arches

Soundproofing of the front and rear wheel arches of a Volvo S90. Its owner wanted to reduce noise in these problematic areas that trouble most vehicles, Volvo included. If for some reason you don't want a full soundproofing job—where we thoroughly treat the wheel arches from the inside—another option is to soundproof this area from the outside. There is slightly less space there, but even so you will notice a significant effect. First we apply the professional anti-vibration Comfortmat Atom material to the body, which has a high acoustic loss factor (MLF) of 0.60 units. Such material effectively prevents vibrations and reduces the penetration of low-frequency noise. We then apply the membrane material Comfortmat Raptor to the plastic part of the wheel arch, which despite its small 4 mm thickness provides an impressive sound insulation capability of up to 30 dB.
