Steering Wheel Control Adapter for Porsche ACV SWC 42XPO005-0

Retain the original steering wheel radio controls when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on the vehicle equipment, the range of functions and the software of the newly installed radio, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the pictured wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and make sure they match both technically and visually. Check whether one of the listed OEM radios was originally installed. Before final installation, verify vehicle functionality, system settings and correct operation of the steering wheel controls (SWC).

Vehicle compatibility

• Porsche Boxster (987) (10/2004 -> 01/2009) - original radio OEM CDR24 or PCM2.1, OEM MOST amplifier system without fader support.
• Porsche Cayman (987C) (11/2005 -> 01/2009) - original radio OEM CDR24 or PCM2.1, OEM MOST amplifier system without fader support.
• Porsche 911 (997) (07/2004 -> 08/2009) - original radio OEM CDR24 or PCM2.1, OEM MOST amplifier system without fader support.

CAN Bus information

Connectors and power:

• Connectors: ISO / Porsche Mini ISO.
• OEM steering wheel control connection: 3.5 mm jack or a spare wire to the SWC input of the car radio.
• OEM MOST amplifier system connection: RCA (red/white) – preamplified output from the aftermarket radio.

Settings:

• Set DIP switches according to the aftermarket unit manufacturer (see the user manual).

Vehicle compatibility:

• OEM MOST amplifier system – fader function is not supported.

Special cases and warnings:

• Re-imported vehicles or vehicles with different software may have limited functionality.

Important additional information

• Compatible with aftermarket car radios that support the OEM MOST system and have an analog input for steering wheel control.
• To fully activate the adapter, you must order the connection cable for the specific radio brand.

General installation instructions

Verification before installation:

1. Check all control functions and vehicle settings with the original OEM head unit installed.
2. Disconnect the original radio (OEM HU) with power off.
3. Check all interface connections to ensure they are connected correctly – with power off.

Connection and wiring sequence:

1. Set and verify the hardware configuration of the interface – with power off.
2. Check the configuration of the connection cable to the head unit – with power off.
3. Connect the cable to the head unit according to the aftermarket device instructions.
4. Connect the other wires according to the device manual.
5. Integrate the entire installation with the vehicle – connect the main power link last.
6. Perform the software configuration of the interface according to the product description or manual.
7. Configure the aftermarket head unit (steering wheel control, camera, handsfree, antenna power, etc.).
8. Perform a functional test of the steering wheel controls and vehicle communication.

Changing the interface configuration and HU cable:

• Make all changes with power off.
• After changes, repeat steps 5 to 8 above.

If the interface or vehicle system fails:

• Reinstall the original OEM head unit.
• Start the original unit.
• Initiate a CAN Bus system shutdown.
• Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
• After shutting down the CAN Bus, repeat steps 5 and 6 above.

When modifying wiring or cable routing:

• Connections and modifications must be carried out only by professionally trained personnel.
• All changes must be verified for manufacturer approval or impact on the vehicle warranty before connecting.
• All modifications must be verified by measurement and comparison with the vehicle wiring diagram before connecting.
