Preserve the original steering wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. CAN Bus information

Connectors and power:

Connectors: 24-pin / 18-pin Hyundai.
OEM steering wheel control connection: 3.5 mm jack or a free wire to the HU SWC input.
Power for vehicles 2016 and newer: +12 V ignition power (Terminal 15) from the fuse box – if required.

Settings:

Set DIP switches according to the aftermarket unit manufacturer (see installation manual).

Vehicle compatibility:

Vehicles without an OEM audio system.
Analog steering wheel control (SWC).

Special cases and warnings:

Vehicles with different pin assignments or with OEM navigation: verify the pinout before connection to avoid errors or damage.

Important additional information

Compatible with aftermarket head units that have an analog steering wheel control input (e.g. Sony, Kenwood, JVC, Pioneer, Alpine, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Zenec, etc.).
To fully activate the adapter you must order the brand-specific connection cable for the head unit.

General installation instructions

Checks before installation:

Verify all steering wheel control functions and vehicle settings with the original OEM head unit installed.
Disconnect the original radio (OEM HU) with power off.
Check all interface connections to ensure they are correctly connected – with power off.

Connections and wiring order:

Set and check the hardware configuration of the interface – with power off.
Check the configuration of the connection cable to the head unit – with power off.
Connect the cable to the head unit according to the aftermarket device instructions.
Connect the other wires according to the device instructions.
Connect the entire installation to the vehicle – attach the main power connection last.
Perform the software configuration of the interface according to the product description or manual.
Configure the aftermarket head unit (steering wheel control, camera, handsfree, antenna power, etc.).
Perform a functional test of the steering wheel controls and communication with the vehicle.

Changing the interface configuration and HU cable:

Make all changes with power off.
After changes, repeat steps 5 to 8 above.

If the interface or vehicle system malfunctions:

Reinstall the original OEM head unit.
Start the original unit.
Initiate CAN Bus shutdown.
Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
After CAN Bus shutdown, repeat steps 5 and 6 above.

When modifying wiring or cable routing:

Wiring and modifications must be performed only by professionally trained personnel.
All changes must be verified for manufacturer approval or potential impact on the vehicle warranty before connection.
All modifications must be verified by measurement and compared with the vehicle wiring diagram before connection.
