Retain the original steering-wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on vehicle equipment, the range of functions and the software of the newly installed radio, some functions may be limited or replaced by alternatives. Compare the shown wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and make sure they match both technically and visually. Check whether one of the listed OEM head units was originally installed. Before final installation, verify vehicle functions, system settings and correct operation of the steering wheel controls (SWC).

  • SWC: 3.5 mm jack / free wires
  • May require coding of the gray OEM connector using a dealer workshop tool.
  • For vehicles with OEM Sat Nav / OEM camera, check the 24-pin connector before installation by measuring with the original HU (Pin 9: +6V camera power, Pin 21: camera GND, Pin 10: Video+, Pin 22: Video−).
  • To power the OEM camera you can use a voltage reducer 12V → 6V / max 1.5A (item: 30.3520-04).

Important additional information

  • To fully activate the adapter it is necessary to order the connector cable for the specific brand of head unit.

General installation instructions

Checks before installation

  1. Check all vehicle functions and settings with the original OEM unit.
  2. Disconnect the OEM head unit with power off.
  3. Inspect all connectors and interface wiring with power off.

Connections and wiring sequence

  1. Check the interface settings and hardware configuration with power off.
  2. Check the HU cable configuration with power off.
  3. Connect the HU cable according to the aftermarket radio manual.
  4. Connect other wires according to the radio manual.
  5. Make the main power connection last.
  6. Perform the software configuration of the interface according to the manual.
  7. Configure the aftermarket HU according to its manual (SWC/camera/handsfree/antenna power, etc.).
  8. Perform a functional test of the steering wheel controls and vehicle systems.

Changing the interface and HU cable configuration

  1. Perform changes only with power off.
  2. After making changes, repeat steps 5 to 8 above.

In case of malfunction

  1. Reinstall the OEM HU.
  2. Start the OEM HU.
  3. Trigger CAN Bus shutdown.
  4. Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
  5. After CAN Bus shutdown, repeat steps 5 and 6 above.

If modifying wiring or cable routing

  • Modifications must be carried out only by a trained specialist.
  • Before connecting, verify manufacturer approval and the effect on the vehicle warranty.
  • Verify functionality and correctness by measuring according to the vehicle wiring diagram.
  • Modifications are carried out at your own risk without warranty of function or protection against vehicle damage.
  • Modifying pre-installed wiring may void the warranty.
