Mercedes-Benz GLE - complete sound system with DSP processor

High-end audio for a Mercedes-Benz GLE. Although this vehicle was equipped with the optional Burmester sound system, it is a big disappointment for most demanding owners. Despite its price, Burmester delivers only average sound that simply doesn’t excite. For this installation we chose a complete system from the Italian manufacturer Steg, which among other things specializes in Mercedes-Benz audio. The speakers and subwoofers have the same shape, mounting points and connectors as the factory speakers. That means there’s no drilling, screwing or soldering required and, of course, we also use the original wiring. The installation is therefore Plug & Play and does not alter the original wiring or interior design. We replaced the component speakers in the front and rear doors, the center speaker and the subwoofers under the dashboard. In the trunk we installed an eight-channel amplifier with a DSP processor from the same manufacturer. Using a calibrated microphone we measured all the vehicle’s shortcomings and obstacles and precisely set the spatial EQ correction for each speaker in the car. We then set time alignment, levels, crossovers and phase — all to ensure the most faithful sound reproduction. The result is faithful, tailor-made sound for this vehicle that surpasses the original Burmester system by several classes.
