Kia Sportage - sound system with DSP processor sound tuning

Sound system for a fourth-generation Kia Sportage including measurement of the speakers' frequency response followed by configuration of the DSP processor. The owner approached us with a request to significantly improve the factory audio, including increased power and dynamics. Based on the owner's wishes and the approved budget we agreed with the customer to replace the speakers in the front and rear doors, install an amplifier with a DSP processor and add a subwoofer in the boot. The installation also naturally included thorough damping of the doors with Comfortmat anti-vibration materials. At the end it was time to measure and tune the sound on the DSP processor. Using a calibrated microphone we measured all the deficiencies and obstacles of this vehicle and set spatial equalizer correction for all speakers in the car. We then set time alignment, levels, crossover points and other options that the DSP processor allows. The goal of this installation was to achieve high-quality, dynamic sound without distortion at higher volumes while making use of the speakers' potential and adapting the sound not only to the driver's position but to the vehicle as a whole.
