How to Care for Polishing Pads

Caring for polishing pads is crucial for their long lifespan and future polishing capabilities.
During use, the temperature of the pad is very important for its longevity, as it can heat up significantly during polishing.
If you polish for a long time and frequently overheat the pad, its lifespan will be significantly reduced.
Monitor the temperature and allow the pad to cool if it overheats.
High temperatures affect both the foam and adhesive of the pad.
Polishing pads must be cleaned frequently during the polishing process, or they will stop functioning effectively.
Once the polishing pad is clogged with compound, action must be taken.
Use a medium-soft brush to brush out old compound. Hold the brush in hand and let the polisher spin the pad.
Be careful not to fling used compound onto polished car paint.
If you have an air compressor, you can use it to blow out the pad while the polisher is running.
After a successful polishing process, prepare the pad for future use.
We recommend washing the pad in a machine at 40°C with a detergent suitable for microfiber.
Never wash pads with towels or cloths!
Do not dry pads in a dryer; let them air dry on a drying towel with the polishing side facing down.
If a washing machine is not available, hand wash pads using APC cleaners diluted 1:6.
Store polishing pads in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a clean, sealed plastic box.
