How to Care for Polishing Pads

• Caring for polishing pads is very important for their longevity and future polishing capabilities.
• The temperature of the pad itself, which can heat up to high temperatures during paint polishing, is very important for the pad and its lifespan.
• If you polish the paint for a long time and frequently overheat the pad, you significantly shorten its lifespan.
• Therefore, monitor the temperature, and if the pad is overheated, let it cool down for a while.
• At high temperatures, both the foam and the pad's adhesive suffer.
• The polishing pad needs to be cleaned frequently during the polishing process, otherwise, it will stop working, and paint polishing will not be effective.
• Once the polishing pad is clogged with polishing paste, it needs to be addressed.
• You can use a medium-soft brush and set the polisher to lower speed, and brush the old paste away. Just hold the brush in your hand and let the polisher rotate the pad.
• Be careful not to throw used paste onto the polished car paint during rotary cleaning.
• If you have an air compressor, you can use it to blow out the pad in the same way with the polisher on.
• After a successful machine polishing process, the pad also needs to be put in a condition where it can ideally be used again in the future.
• We recommend washing the polishing pad in a washing machine at 40°C using a detergent designed for microfiber.
• Do not wash pads together with towels or cloths!
• Do not put pads in the dryer after washing, but let them air dry placed on a drying towel with the polishing side down.
• If you do not have a washing machine, you can wash the pads by hand using an APC cleaner, diluted in a ratio of 1:6.
• Polishing pads should be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a closed clean plastic box.
