How to Care for Polishing Pads

• Caring for polishing pads is crucial for their longevity and future polishing capabilities.
• During work, the temperature of the pad is very important for its lifespan, as it can heat up significantly during paint polishing.
• If you polish the paint for an extended period and frequently overheat the pad, its lifespan will be significantly reduced.
• Therefore, monitor the temperature and allow the pad to cool down if it overheats.
• High temperatures affect both the foam and the adhesive of the pad.
• It is necessary to clean the polishing pad frequently during the polishing process; otherwise, it will stop working effectively.
• Once the pad is clogged with polishing paste, it needs to be addressed.
• You can use a medium-soft brush and set the polisher to a lower speed, brushing away the old paste while the pad rotates.
• Be careful not to throw the used paste onto the polished car paint during rotational cleaning.
• If you have an air compressor, you can use it to blow the pad out in the same way while the polisher is on.
• After successful machine polishing, the pad should be prepared for future use.
• We recommend washing the polishing pad in a washing machine at 40°C using a detergent suitable for microfiber.
• Never wash pads together with towels or cloths!
• Do not put the pads in a dryer after washing; let them air dry on a drying towel with the polishing side down.
• If a washing machine is not available, you can hand wash the pads with an APC cleaner diluted in a 1:6 ratio.
