How to Care for Polishing Pads

• Caring for polishing pads is essential for their longevity and future polishing capabilities.
• During use, the temperature of the pad is very important for its lifespan as it can heat up significantly during paint polishing.
• If you polish for an extended period and frequently overheat the pad, its lifespan will be significantly reduced.
• Monitor the temperature and allow the pad to cool down if it becomes too hot.
• High temperatures affect both the foam and the adhesive of the pad.
• The polishing pad needs to be cleaned frequently during the polishing process, otherwise, it will stop functioning effectively.
• Once the pad is clogged with polishing paste, action needs to be taken.
• You can use a medium-soft brush and set the polisher to a lower speed, brushing out the old paste during operation. Just hold the brush and let the polisher rotate the pad.
• Be careful not to splatter used paste onto polished car paint during rotary cleaning.
• If you have an air compressor, you can use it to blow out the pad while the polisher is running.
• After successful machine polishing, the pad should be prepared for future use.
• We recommend washing the pad in a washing machine at 40°C using a detergent suitable for microfiber.
• Never wash pads together with towels or cloths!
• Do not tumble dry the pads; let them air dry on a towel with the polishing side down.
• If you don't have access to a washing machine, you can wash pads by hand using an APC cleaner diluted at a ratio of 1:6.
• Polishing pads should be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a clean, closed plastic box.
