How to Care for Polishing Pads
- Caring for polishing pads is crucial for their longevity and future polishing capabilities.
- During use, the temperature of the pad is important for its lifespan, as it can heat up to high temperatures.
- If you polish for an extended period and frequently overheat the pad, its lifespan will be significantly shortened.
- Monitor the temperature and allow the pad to cool if it becomes overheated.
- High temperatures affect both the foam and adhesive of the pad.
- Frequent cleaning of the pad during the polishing process is necessary to maintain its effectiveness.
- If the pad becomes clogged with polishing paste, it needs to be addressed.
- Use a medium-soft brush and set the polisher to a lower speed to brush away the old paste.
- Be careful not to spread used paste onto the polished surface of the car.
- If you have an air compressor, you can use it to blow out the pad while the polisher is running.
- After successful machine polishing, the pad should be restored for future use.
- We recommend washing the pad in a washing machine at 40°C with a microfiber detergent.
- Do not wash pads together with towels or cloths!
- Do not tumble dry the pads; let them air dry on a drying towel with the polishing side down.
- If a washing machine is not available, hand wash with a diluted APC cleaner.
- Store polishing pads in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a closed clean plastic box.
