Audi A6 - speaker replacement

Speaker replacement in a penultimate-generation Audi A6. This car was fitted only with the basic factory sound system, which unfortunately doesn’t offer much joy from your favourite music. The highs lack detail, the mids are virtually non-existent, and although the doors hide 200 mm mid-woofers, even those don’t deliver what a more demanding listener would expect. Fortunately, Audi’s head units are among the highest quality and have surprisingly high output. Therefore the simplest solution is to replace the speakers while retaining the factory head unit. For that it is necessary to choose speakers with optimal power and high sensitivity, which allows connection to the factory head unit with lower output. Lately we have favored component speakers from the Italian manufacturer Audison for such installations; they meet all the mentioned parameters and additionally offer very high-quality sound. With sensitivity above 92 dB, the speakers are suitable both for connection to the radio and to an external amplifier thanks to their high power of 115 W RMS. In this case we chose the first option. We installed the mentioned speakers into the front and rear doors and, thanks to cable adapters, used the sufficiently robust factory wiring so we did not alter the vehicle’s electrical system. We sound-deadened all doors with premium Comfortmat materials, which especially enhances the bass component of the mid-woofers and improves their sound.View products >Hide products >
