How to care for polishing pads

• Regular care of polishing pads is essential to maintain their long lifespan and optimal polishing performance.
• During work it is necessary to monitor the pad temperature, because polishing paint can heat it to very high temperatures.
• Frequent overheating of the pad during extended cutting significantly shortens its life and damages the foam and adhesive.
• If the pad becomes too hot, let it cool down naturally for a while before using it again.
• The pad must be cleaned regularly during polishing to prevent clogging and reduced effectiveness.
• You can remove clogged polishing compound using a medium-soft brush, for example Poka Premium Brush for Details and Pad cleaning - Hard Blue, while running the polisher at low speed.
• If you have an air compressor available, simply blow the clogged compound out of the rotating pad with compressed air.
• After finishing work it is recommended to wash the pad in a washing machine at 40 °C using a special microfiber detergent such as Gyeon Q²M TowelWash.
• Never wash polishing pads together with microfiber towels or cloths.
• For hand washing without a machine use a specialized pad cleaner like ADBL Pad Cleaner.
• After washing the pads do not put them in a dryer; let them air dry freely on a drying towel with the working side facing down.
• Store dry polishing pads in a dry place away from direct sunlight, preferably in a closable clean plastic box.
