- Caring for polishing pads is crucial for their longevity and future polishing capabilities.
- The temperature of the pad itself is vital for its lifespan as it can heat up significantly during paint polishing.
- Frequent overheating during polishing will significantly shorten its lifespan.
- Monitor the temperature and let the pad cool if it becomes overheated.
- High temperatures affect both the foam and the adhesive of the pad.
- The pad needs regular cleaning during the polishing process; otherwise, it will cease to be effective.
- Once the pad is clogged with polishing paste, it needs to be addressed.
- A medium-soft brush can be used to brush out old paste with the polisher set to lower speed.
- Be cautious not to throw used paste onto the polished car paint.
- If you have an air compressor, you can use it to blow out the pad while the polisher is running.
- After successful machine polishing, the pad should be made ready for future use.
- We recommend washing the pad in a washing machine at 40°C with a detergent suitable for microfiber.
- Never wash pads with towels or cloths!
- Do not tumble dry pads; let them air dry on a towel with the polishing side down.
- If a washing machine is not available, pads can be hand-washed with a diluted APC cleaner.
- Store polishing pads in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a closed clean plastic box.
