How to Care for Polishing Pads

• Caring for polishing pads is crucial for their longevity and future polishing capabilities.
• The temperature of the pad is essential for its lifespan, as it can heat up significantly during polishing.
• If you polish the paint for a long time and frequently overheat the pad, its lifespan will be significantly reduced.
• Monitor the temperature, and if the pad overheats, let it cool down for a while.
• High temperatures affect both the foam and the pad's adhesive.
• The polishing pad needs frequent cleaning during the polishing process to remain effective.
• Once the pad is clogged with polishing paste, it's essential to address it immediately.
• You can use a medium-soft brush and set the polisher to lower speeds to brush off the old paste.
• If using a rotary cleaning method, be cautious not to splash used paste onto the polished car paint.
• If you own an air compressor, you can use it to blow out the pad while the polisher is on.
• After successful machine polishing, the pad needs to be prepared for future use.
• We recommend washing the pad in a washing machine at 40°C using a microfiber detergent.
• Never wash pads with towels or cloths!
• After washing, let the pads air dry on a drying towel with the polishing side down.
• If you don't have a washing machine, you can hand wash the pads using an APC cleaner diluted in a 1:6 ratio.
• Polishing pads should be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a clean, closed plastic box.
