Honey COMBination Polishing Pad Short 2.0 (80 mm)

The Honey COMBination Polishing Pad Short 2.0 is a powerful polishing pad designed for use with orbital polishers. The material structure is a combination of 50% natural wool and 50% microfiber. It combines the cutting power of natural wool and microfiber with a good resulting shine, achieved by reducing sharpness when polishing due to the use of synthetic fur. The reinforced bond of these two fibers reduces clogging of the pad with paste residues and improves its structural longevity. It features a rubber interlayer that minimizes vibrations during work. The hole in the center ensures better cooling during use and facilitates even application of the pad on the backing plate.

How to Care for Polishing Pads

  • Caring for polishing pads is crucial for their long lifespan and future polishing capabilities.
  • During work, the temperature of the pad itself is very important for its lifespan, as it can heat up to high temperatures when polishing paint.
  • If you polish the paint for an extended period and frequently overheat the pad, you significantly shorten its lifespan.
  • Therefore, monitor the temperature and let the pad cool down if it's overheated.
  • Both the foam and the glue of the pad suffer at high temperatures.
  • The polishing pad needs frequent cleaning during the polishing process; otherwise, it will stop functioning, and paint polishing will be ineffective.
  • Once the pad is clogged with polishing paste, it's time to address it.
  • You can use a medium-soft brush and set the polisher to lower speeds to brush out the old paste. Just hold the brush in hand and let the polisher rotate the pad.
  • Be careful not to throw the used paste onto the polished car paint during rotary cleaning.
  • If you have an air compressor, you can use it to blow out the pad in the same way when the polisher is on.
  • After the successful machine polishing process, the pad also needs to be put in a condition for future use.
  • We recommend washing the polishing pad in a washing machine at 40°C using a detergent designed for microfiber.
  • Never wash pads together with towels or cloths!
  • Do not put pads in the dryer after washing; let them air dry by placing them on a drying towel with the polishing side down.
  • If you don't have access to a washing machine, you can wash pads by hand using one of the APC cleaners, diluted at a 1:6 ratio.
  • Polishing pads should be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a closed clean plastic box.
