How to Care for Polishing Pads

• Caring for polishing pads is crucial for their longevity and future polishing capabilities.
• During use, the temperature of the pad is critical for its lifespan, as it can heat up to high temperatures while polishing paint.
• If you polish the paint for an extended period and frequently overheat the pad, you significantly shorten its lifespan.
• Therefore, monitor the temperature, and if the pad overheats, let it cool down for a while.
• High temperatures affect both the foam and the adhesive of the pad.
• Polishing pads need to be cleaned frequently during the polishing process, or they will stop functioning effectively.
• Once the polishing pad is clogged with polishing paste, it needs to be addressed.
• You can use a medium-soft brush and set the polisher to lower speed, running it empty in your hand, and brush out the old paste. Just hold the brush in your hand and let the polisher rotate the pad.
• Be careful not to throw the used paste onto the polished paint of the car during rotary cleaning.
• If you have an air compressor, you can use it to blow out the pad in the same way with the polisher turned on.
• After successful machine polishing, the pad should be put into a condition to be ideally used again in the future.
• We recommend washing the polishing pad in a washing machine at 40°C using a detergent meant for microfiber.
• Do not wash the pads together with towels or cloths!
• Do not dry the pads in a dryer after washing; let them air dry, placed on a drying towel with the polishing side down.
• If you do not have access to a washing machine, you can wash the pads by hand using an APC cleaner diluted in a ratio of 1:6.
• Polishing pads should be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a closed clean plastic box.
