How to Care for Polishing Pads

• Caring for polishing pads is crucial for their long lifespan and future polishing capabilities.
• During use, the temperature of the pad itself, which can heat up to high levels during paint polishing, is very important for the pad and its lifespan.
• If you polish the paint for an extended period and frequently overheat the pad, you significantly shorten its lifespan.
• Monitor the temperature, and if the pad is overheated, let it cool down for a while.
• Both the foam and adhesive of the pad suffer at high temperatures.
• The polishing pad needs to be cleaned often during the polishing process, or it will stop working effectively.
• Once the pad is clogged with polishing paste, action should be taken.
• You can use a medium-soft brush and set the polisher to lower speed, spin the pad in hand, and brush away the old paste. Just hold the brush and let the polisher spin the pad.
• Be careful not to throw used paste onto the polished paint during rotary cleaning.
• If you own an air compressor, you can use it to blow out the pad in the same way with the polisher on.
• After a successful polishing process, the pad should be prepared for future use.
• We recommend washing the polishing pad in a washing machine at 40°C using a detergent meant for microfiber.
• Polishing pads should never be washed together with towels or cloths!
• After washing, do not place the pads in a dryer; let them air dry on a towel with the polishing side down.
• If you don't have access to a washing machine, you can wash the pads by hand using an APC cleaner diluted in a 1:6 ratio.
• Polishing pads should be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a closed clean plastic box.
