How to Care for Polishing Pads

• Caring for polishing pads is crucial for their longevity and future polishing abilities.
• The temperature of the pad, which can heat up to high levels during polishing, is vital for the pad's lifespan.
• If you polish the paint for extended periods and frequently overheat the pad, it significantly reduces its lifespan.
• Monitor the temperature, and if the pad is overheated, allow it to cool down.
• Both the foam and adhesive of the pad suffer at high temperatures.
• The polishing pad needs frequent cleaning during the polishing process; otherwise, it will stop functioning effectively.
• Once the polishing pad is clogged with polishing paste, it needs attention.
• You can use a medium-soft brush and set the polisher to low speed to brush out the old paste. Just hold the brush and let the polisher rotate the pad.
• Be careful not to fling the used paste onto the polished car paint during rotary cleaning.
• If you have an air compressor, you can use it in the same way to blow out the pad during polishing.
• After successful machine polishing, the pad should be prepared for future use.
• We recommend washing the polishing pad in a washing machine at 40°C using a detergent meant for microfiber.
• Never wash pads together with towels or cloths!
• Do not machine dry the pads; let them air dry on a drying towel with the polishing side down.
• If you don't have a washing machine, you can wash the pads by hand using an APC cleaner diluted in a 1:6 ratio.
• Polishing pads should be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a closed clean plastic box.
