How to Care for Polishing Pads

• Caring for polishing pads is crucial for their longevity and future polishing capabilities.
• During use, the temperature of the pad is very important for its lifespan, as it can heat up to high temperatures during paint polishing.
• If you polish paint for an extended period and frequently overheat the pad, you significantly shorten its lifespan.
• Monitor the temperature and allow the pad to cool down if it overheats.
• High temperatures affect both the foam and adhesive of the pad.
• The pad needs frequent cleaning during the polishing process, otherwise it will stop functioning effectively.
• Once the pad is clogged with polishing paste, it needs attention.
• You can use a medium-soft brush and set the polisher to a lower speed to brush out the old paste.
• Be careful not to throw used paste onto the polished paint during rotary cleaning.
• If you have an air compressor, you can use it to blow out the pad while the polisher is running.
• After successful machine polishing, the pad should be prepared for future use.
• We recommend washing the pad in a washing machine at 40°C using a detergent designed for microfiber.
• Do not wash pads together with towels or cloths!
• Do not put washed pads in a dryer; let them air dry on a drying towel with the polishing side down.
• If you don't have access to a washing machine, you can wash pads by hand using an APC cleaner diluted in a 1:6 ratio.
• Polishing pads should be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a closed clean plastic box.
