How to Care for Polishing Pads

• Caring for polishing pads is crucial for their longevity and future polishing capabilities.
• The temperature of the pad itself, which can heat up significantly during paint polishing, is vital for both the pad and its lifespan.
• If you polish the paint for an extended period and frequently overheat the pad, you will significantly shorten its lifespan.
• Therefore, monitor the temperature and let the pad cool if it becomes overheated.
• High temperatures affect both the foam and the adhesive of the pad.
• The polishing pad needs frequent cleaning during the polishing process; otherwise, it will stop working effectively.
• Once the pad is clogged with polishing paste, it's time to address it.
• You can use a medium-soft brush and set the polisher to a lower speed, brushing away the old paste.
• Be careful not to throw used paste onto the polished paint during rotary cleaning.
• If you have an air compressor, you can use it to blow out the pad while the polisher is on.
• After successful machine polishing, the pad should also be conditioned for future use.
• We recommend washing the pad in a washing machine at 40°C using a detergent suitable for microfiber.
• Never wash pads with towels or cloths!
• After washing, do not put pads in the dryer; let them air dry on a towel with the polishing side down.
• If a washing machine is unavailable, you can hand wash the pads using an APC cleaner diluted in a 1:6 ratio.
• Polishing pads should be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a sealed clean plastic box.
