Carbon Collective HEX Foam Polishing Pad (Polishing 3 - Orange)
A professional foam polishing pad designed to achieve optimal results during machine polishing of paint. This medium-firm polishing pad is specially developed for use with dual action polishers, maximising their efficiency and speed. Thanks to an innovative hexagonal structure and premium German foam, it ensures effective removal of paint defects while delivering a high final gloss.
This polishing pad represents a technologically advanced solution for paint correction that combines innovative design with first-class materials. The key element is the unique hexagonal (HEX) pattern on the foam surface. This profile performs two essential functions. First, it effectively retains polishing compound in the working area, preventing premature drying and unwanted splatter. Second, it significantly improves air circulation and reduces the temperature of the polished surface. This minimises the risk of overheating the paint and gives the user more time to work the compound to perfection.
The pad's construction uses a so-called conical or wedge design. The bottom side with hook-and-loop is designed for 125 mm backing pads, while the polishing surface expands to 150 mm. This shape provides a larger working area, increases safety when working near edges and allows better pressure distribution. The very thin pad profile, ranging between 20 and 25 mm, is key for optimal transfer of the eccentric motion from a dual action polisher directly to the paint. Thin foam absorbs fewer oscillations than thick pads, which dramatically increases cutting power and speeds up the polishing process.
The Polishing 3 version (orange) is classified as a medium-firm polishing pad designed to remove medium-heavy paint defects. It is the ideal choice for removing swirl marks, light paint damage and restoring depth and clarity to the paint. The German foam used excels in wear resistance and ensures the pad does not leave holograms or micro-scratches. The central hole in the pad acts as an effective ventilation channel that removes heat from the inner part of the backing pad, protecting both the pad from delamination and the polished surface from thermal damage.
Main features
- Medium-firm foam pad intended for paint correction and removal of medium defects using a dual action polisher.
- Unique hexagonal HEX pattern for optimal retention of polishing compound and reduced surface temperature.
- Specifically designed to work efficiently with dual action polishers.
- Very strong hook-and-loop fastening ensures secure attachment to the backing pad.
- Central hole for effective heat dissipation and cooling during work.
- Quality German foam minimises holograms and ensures a smooth finish.
- Hook-and-loop diameter for the backing pad is 125 mm.
- The active polishing surface diameter is 150 mm.
- Thin design with a thickness of 20 to 25 mm maximises polishing effect.
How to use
- Select a suitable 125 mm backing pad and firmly centre the polishing pad on it.
- Apply an appropriate amount of suitable polishing compound to the pad surface.
- Place the pad onto the paint surface before starting the polisher to prevent compound splatter.
- Polish the surface using the dual action polisher with light pressure and monitor the paint temperature.
- During work, clean the pad regularly with compressed air or a suitable pad brush to remove dried compound residue.
- After finishing, carefully remove the pad from the backing pad and wash it in a cleaner for polishing pads.
About the brand
Carbon Collective is a premium British brand of car care, ceramic protections and detailing accessories. The brand was born from the practice of detailers themselves.
