Bilt Hamber Auto-Clay-Medium
The medium-hard decontamination clay offers a gentle yet highly effective way to restore the original smoothness of your vehicle's paint. This product safely removes deep-seated contaminants that cannot be removed by ordinary car shampoo washing. It is an ideal choice for preparing the bodywork prior to polishing or applying protective waxes and sealants.
During use microscopic particles accumulate on the paint surface such as fallout rust, brake dust, tar spots or insect residues. These contaminants gradually embed into the top layer of the paint, causing roughness and loss of gloss. Mechanical decontamination with this special putty safely lifts and removes these firmly attached contaminants, returning a perfectly smooth surface.
Regular clay treatment greatly simplifies subsequent car care stages. Protective products adhere much better to a perfectly clean and smooth surface, significantly extending their lifespan and maximising final gloss. This medium-hard clay offers an optimal balance between cleaning power and gentleness to the paint, making it a very versatile helper.
It is very economical to use as plain water is sufficient as a lubricant. The mass is highly pliable, easy to shape and when used correctly minimises the risk of paint damage. For best results and to extend the product's life it is recommended to perform chemical decontamination first.

Instructions for use
- Thoroughly wash the vehicle with car shampoo before using the clay.
- Work in the shade; panels must be cool to the touch.
- We recommend using the fallout rust remover Bilt Hamber Korrosol before mechanical decontamination to prolong the clay's life.
- Tear off a smaller piece from the clay and shape it into a flat pebble.
- Spray a sufficient amount of water or lubricant on the panel to be cleaned (lubricant recommended) and gently move the clay back and forth without applying pressure.
- The clay must never slide over a dry surface; keep the paint constantly wet.
- The initial faint crackling sound indicating contaminants being picked up will gradually disappear, signalling a clean surface.
- After cleaning the panel, wipe away residual moisture with a microfiber cloth.
- Regularly fold the clay so the dirty side is turned inward to always work with a clean surface.
- If the clay falls on the ground, do not use it anymore to avoid scratching the paint with trapped debris.
- After decontamination, protect the paint by applying wax or another protective product.
