Gyeon Q2M Clay Coarse EVO Hard Clay (100 g)
Traditional clay remains one of the most effective available solutions for cleaning heavily contaminated car paints. In 2024 Gyeon introduced two new clays (hard and soft) in the improved EVO version with two levels of contamination removal capability. These are Gyeon Q²M Clay Coarse EVO for heavily contaminated surfaces and Gyeon Q²M Clay Mild EVO for everyday paint maintenance. Both clays are extremely chemically resistant and can be used together with the iron remover Gyeon Q²M Iron REDEFINED or the tar remover Gyeon Q²M Tar REDEFINED, as well as with the highly concentrated lubricant Gyeon Q²M ClayLube REDEFINED. The hard clay Gyeon Q²M Clay Coarse is the fastest way to remove heavy paint contamination such as tar, organic deposits and industrial fallout or overspray. It is recommended to use it before machine polishing the paint, as it can leave light scratches. The soft clay Gyeon Q²M Clay Mild is designed to be completely safe on all types of paint and can effectively remove all common types of contamination even on the softest clear coats. Its light color helps reveal any removed contamination so you can adjust your use of the clay accordingly. Both Gyeon clays are designed for advanced enthusiasts as well as professional detailers.

How to use
- Before you start working with the clay, watch Gyeon’s original YouTube video.
- Before using the clay, thoroughly wash the car with a car shampoo.
- Wash the car in the shade and work with the clay in the shade as well; it should not be too hot.
- Body panels must be cool to the touch.
- Form a small patty from the clay (pebble shape).
- Briefly place the clay in lukewarm water before use.
- Spray a small amount of lubricant onto the panel you want to clay and then gently move the clay back and forth over the lubricated area. Do not use it dry!
- At the beginning of claying you may hear the contamination as a faint rustle or squeak, which gradually disappears.
- Rotate the clay during use and press the collected dirt into the clay.
- After decontaminating a panel, check with your fingertips to ensure all contamination has been removed.
- The paint must be completely smooth.
- Once you are sure the paint is clean, dry the panel using a quick detailer and a long-pile microfiber cloth (e.g. Purestar Grass Buffing Towel).
- Proceed panel by panel until the entire car is decontaminated.
- You may see brown marks on the clay from the performed decontamination, and that’s what you want to see.
- Fold the clay frequently so the contamination remains inside and only clean clay is exposed for further use.
