Rasťo Chvála enjoys coming to us, that's for sure. We make him happy not only with better sound, but also with greater silence behind the wheel. As soon as we first tried the new Comfortmat Aerospace materials, intended primarily for electric cars and customers who do not want to significantly increase the vehicle's weight, we immediately thought of Rasťo and his Škoda Elroq. So we called him with an offer to soundproof and Rasťo agreed. Elroq then headed to us for installation and the whole project also produced an interesting video that deals not only with the soundproofing itself and the new Aerospace materials, but also with the application of a new protective film to his car. What kind of soundproofing did the Škoda Elroq receive?
For the soundproofing of this car, Rasťo and I chose our new package Aero, which is characterized primarily by the lower weight of the materials and easier application. The Comfortmat Aerospace materials combine in a single layer both the anti-vibration effect and sound insulation, allowing them to significantly reduce the total installation weight. With the traditional approach the weight of the Elroq would have increased by approximately 70 to 80 kg depending on the chosen program. In this case we ended up at approximately 40 kg, while choosing an even lighter variant would make it possible to further reduce the final weight.
This is not a symbolic or basic soundproofing, but a full-fledged service. Compared to the traditional solution as we perform it, it is approximately 30% less effective, which, given the significant weight savings, is a very good result. We deliberately say 'as we perform it', because even our Aero soundproofing matches the effectiveness of common soundproofing offers on the market. The Aerospace range therefore represents an interesting alternative especially for electric vehicles, sports cars and all customers for whom not only lower noise is important, but also every saved kilogram.
