Design and construction

The Estremo amplifiers share the same chassis as the Fantasia series, but their appearance is markedly rawer and more technical. The dominant gold coloring has disappeared, giving way to a clean, raw aesthetic that puts the construction itself in the spotlight. Minimalist Estremo and Quartorigo labeling in different fonts underscores the amplifier’s character as a tool of pure power and control. The elegant, slim lines that reference the brand’s historic models remain, but the whole looks more decisive and uncompromising.

The Estremo lineup includes amplifiers intended exclusively for the most demanding sound-quality installations, where maximum emphasis is placed on stability, dynamics and power reserve. Compared to the Fantasia series, Estremo offers higher power, greater current stability and significantly better control under load. Controls remain strictly limited to the essentials — gain and basic functions — to avoid compromising the integrity of the signal path. As with other Quartorigo amplifiers, all connectors are placed on one side of the unit for the cleanest, most organized installation.

Technology

Inside the Estremo amplifiers a real technical evolution takes place. The signal path has been fundamentally redesigned to achieve even greater linearity and more precise dynamic control across the entire frequency spectrum. The output stage underwent a complete redesign, resulting in better driver control, higher stability and consistent behavior even under extreme loads.

The input section was significantly simplified to minimize interference and preserve maximum signal integrity from the source. One key step was removing one operational amplifier from the signal path, which reduced distortion and noticeably increased transparency and clarity. The amplifier thus responds faster, more naturally and with greater dynamic confidence.

Four-position jumper switches are used for precise gain adjustment, allowing very fine and repeatable sensitivity settings. This solution is ideal for both purely analog systems and advanced DSP installations that require absolute tuning accuracy. The power supply was also reinforced — compared to the standard Fantasia series, the power supply output was increased by 20% for the 2.2 model and by 15% for the 3.2 model, which directly translates into better dynamics, faster response and improved control of transient events.

Power transformers are oversized toroids with optimized magnetic properties that minimize losses and increase energy efficiency. Combined with gold-plated conductive traces on the PCB, this ensures long-term stability of electrical parameters, corrosion resistance and consistent performance even in demanding operating conditions. System protection is provided by a robust ANL fuse, ensuring maximum operational safety while maintaining high reliability.

From initial design, through development and design to actual manufacturing and final assembly, the entire process takes place exclusively on Italian soil.
