HELIX IQ W8-DVC2 sets a new standard among high-performance subwoofers for discerning listeners. Before first use, install the supplied screw with the wedge lock washer into the dust cap as described in the "Tuneable Mass System installation manual." This step is required even if you do not plan to use the additional tuning weights.
Uncompromising power and sound
The subwoofer is optimized for 300 - 750 W RMS and pairs ideally with high-power amplifiers. It features a three-layer honeycomb cone made of fiberglass and Mylar, providing extreme stiffness while maintaining effective damping. This construction yields minimal distortion, fast transient response, and precise bass reproduction—even at extreme volumes. An advanced cooling system with a large ventilated pole piece and an airflow-optimized basket design ensures continuous air circulation, prevents overheating, and enables stable performance during prolonged high loads.
Tuneable Mass System – tailor the response
The patented TMS allows fine adjustment of the driver’s moving mass by adding or removing weights in the dust cap. This lets you precisely tailor the bass character for the specific application:
- No added mass – higher efficiency and quicker response, ideal for high-power systems,
- With added mass – deeper, meatier bass, perfect for sealed or low-tuned bass-reflex enclosures.
This unique flexibility lets you adapt the sound and enclosure volume to the listener’s preferences and the specific vehicle.
Versatile wiring and compatibility
Thanks to dual 2 × 2 ohm voice coils, the subwoofer can be wired in multiple configurations—from 1 ohm up to 4 ohms. This makes it suitable for monoblock amplifiers as well as multi-subwoofer arrays and a variety of system requirements. HELIX IQ W8-DVC2 is well suited for sealed enclosures for tight, accurate bass as well as for bass-reflex cabinets where it can deliver extremely deep frequencies with massive output.
Robust and refined construction
A die-cast aluminum basket provides maximum rigidity and eliminates unwanted resonances. An integrated protective grille shields the cone while simplifying installation in tight spaces. With its durable construction and smart design, the subwoofer remains reliable over time and delivers clean, dynamic bass performance for years.
