Retain original steering wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on vehicle equipment, available functions and the software of the newly installed radio, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the displayed harness connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and ensure they match both technically and visually. Verify whether one of the listed OEM radios was originally installed. Before final installation, check vehicle functionality, system settings and correct operation of the steering wheel control (SWC).

Intended for vehicles

• Porsche Cayenne (9PA/955) (02/2007 -> 02/2010) - original OEM PCM 3.0 radio with touchscreen, OEM MOST amplifier system without support for fader function.

CAN Bus information

Connectors and power:

• Connectors: 40-pin Porsche Quadlock.
• OEM steering wheel control connection: 3.5mm jack or spare wire to the SWC input of the head unit.
• OEM MOST amplifier system connection: RCA (red/white) – preamplified output from the aftermarket radio.

Settings:

• Set DIP switches according to the aftermarket unit manufacturer (see BDA).

Vehicle compatibility:

• OEM MOST amplifier system – fader function is not supported.

Special cases and warnings:

• Reimported vehicles or vehicles with different software may have limited functionality.

Important additional information

• Compatible with aftermarket radios supporting the OEM MOST system and an analog steering wheel control input.
• To fully activate the adapter, you must order the connection cable specific to the head unit brand.

General installation instructions

Checks before installation:

1. Check all steering control functions and vehicle settings with the original OEM main unit installed.
2. Disconnect the original radio (OEM HU) with power off.
3. Check all interface connections to ensure they are correctly connected – with power off.

Connections and wiring sequence:

1. Set and check the hardware configuration of the interface – with power off.
2. Check the configuration of the connection cable to the head unit – with power off.
3. Connect the cable to the head unit according to the aftermarket device manual.
4. Connect the remaining wires according to the device manual.
5. Connect the entire installation to the vehicle – connect the main power last.
6. Perform software configuration of the interface according to the product description or manual.
7. Configure the aftermarket head unit (steering wheel control, camera, handsfree, antenna power, etc.).
8. Carry out a functional test of the steering wheel control and communication with the vehicle.

Changing interface and head unit cable configuration:

• Make all changes with power off.
• After changes, repeat steps 5 to 8 listed above.

If the interface or vehicle system fails:

• Reinstall the original OEM head unit.
• Start the original unit.
• Initiate CAN Bus shutdown.
• Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
• After CAN Bus shutdown, repeat steps 5 and 6 listed above.

When modifying wiring or cable routing:

• Wiring and modifications may only be performed by professionally trained personnel.
