Steering wheel button control adapter for Ford ACV SWC 42XFO008-0

Retain the original steering wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on the vehicle's equipment, the range of functions and the software of the newly installed head unit, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the displayed wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and make sure they match both technically and visually. Check whether one of the listed OEM head units was originally installed. Before final installation, verify the vehicle functionality, system settings and proper operation of the steering wheel control (SWC).

Intended for vehicles

    • Ford B-MAX [JK8] (10/2012 -> 09/2017) - original OEM head unit.
    • Ford C-MAX [DXA] (11/2010 -> 05/2015) - for this model it may be necessary to extend the display connection. Vehicles with the small display and two adjustment buttons on the right do not support date setting.
    • Ford C-MAX [DXA] (06/2015 -> 12/2019) - for this model it may be necessary to extend the display connection. Vehicles with the small display and two adjustment buttons on the right do not support date setting.
    • Ford Ecosport [JK8] (02/2014 -> 10/2017) - original OEM head unit.
    • Ford Fiesta [JA8/JR8] (01/2013 -> 06/2017) - original OEM head unit.

    CAN Bus Information

    • Connector: 24-pin Ford.
    • Output for OEM steering-wheel control: 3.5 mm jack or free wire.
    • AMP monitor connector > connection to OEM monitor.
    • OEM monitor connector > connection to the interface.
    • OEM AUX > RCA (cinch) output – red/white.
    • Vehicles with OK button and/or voice control button on the steering wheel.
    • Vehicles with OEM display and CD mechanism below the display.
    • Vehicles with SYNC are not supported; SYNC functions are not compatible.
    • On vehicles with OEM navigation some interface functions may be partially incompatible.

    Important Additional Information

        • Before installation deactivate SYNC and Bluetooth functions in the OEM unit. The SYNC emergency call function is deactivated together with the Bluetooth function.
        • To avoid errors in the vehicle settings menu: turn off the aftermarket head unit, briefly (maximum 2 seconds) press the voice control button and perform settings only according to the manual.
        • If an error occurs in the setup mode repeat the procedure after putting the CAN Bus to sleep.
        • Extension of the display connection may be necessary.
        • Vehicles with the small display and two adjustment buttons on the right do not support date setting.
        • For Ford Transit (V363) [FCA/FAD] the installation of the OEM display is not supported with the mounting frame; therefore the OEM display must remain connected during operation.
        • Supported: rear PDC chimes, system chimes and vehicle settings.
        • Intended for aftermarket head units from Sony, Kenwood, JVC, Pioneer, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Alpine, LG, Zenec, XZent, Digital Dynamics, ESX, Snooper and universal “China HU” units with wires Key1/Key2/GND or a 3.5 mm jack depending on type.
        • To fully activate the adapter it is necessary to order the connection cable for the specific head unit brand.

        Provided Signals

          • Red: +12 V ignition, terminal 15.
          • Orange: +12 V illumination, terminal 58.
          • Purple/white: +12 V reverse signal.
          • Pink: speed pulse.
          • Green: GND signal for parking brake.
          • Maximum output load: 250 mA. If current draw exceeds 250 mA use a relay with a coil resistance of at least 75 Ohm (1 relay) or 150 Ohm (2 relays).

          General Installation Instructions

          Verification Before Installation:

          1. Check all control functions and vehicle settings using the original OEM HU.
          2. Disconnect the original radio (OEM HU) in a voltage-free condition.
          3. Check all interface connections – without power.

          Connection and Installation Sequence:

          1. Set and check the HW configuration of the interface – without power.
          2. Check the configuration of the HU connection cable – without power.
          3. Connect the cable to the HU according to the aftermarket device manual.
          4. Connect the remaining wires according to the device manual.
          5. Connect the complete installation to the vehicle – connect the main power supply last.
          6. Perform the software configuration of the interface according to the product description or manual.
          7. Configure the aftermarket HU (steering wheel control, camera, handsfree, antenna power etc.).
          8. Perform a functional test of steering wheel control and vehicle communication.

          Configuration Changes:

          • All changes must be carried out without power.
          • After changes repeat steps 5 to 8 above.

          In Case of Failure:

          • Reinstall the original OEM HU.
          • Start the original unit.
          • Initiate CAN Bus shutdown.
          • Check the HW configuration of the interface.
          • After CAN Bus shutdown repeat steps 5 and 8.

          When Modifying Wiring:

          • Installation and modifications may only be carried out by professionally trained personnel.
          • All changes must be verified before connection regarding manufacturer approval or impact on vehicle warranty.
          • All modifications must be verified by measurement and comparison with the vehicle wiring diagram.
          • Modifications are carried out at your own responsibility without guarantee of functionality.
          • Modifications are performed at your own risk without guarantee against damage to the vehicle, device or interface.
          • Modifications of pre-installed wiring may result in loss of product warranty.
